Chicago’s fashion scene tends to be rather underground… Often, word of mouth* can be the best way to find your new favorite piece. Which is a shame because it means that many designers go unseen, especially black designers.
It's time to put our money where our mouth is, and acknowledge that Black America is a wealth of innovation and culture.
To help you out, this week we wanted to highlight the amazing black designers in Chicago. Some have been around for decades, others are just starting to emerge. Regardless, they are an essential part of our city’s history and future.
