Chicago Historical Costume Society & Conscious Costume presents a

Historical Costume Swap

Time: 1pm - 4pm (1 hour set up before & 1 hour tear down after)

Location: AIBI Fashion Lab, 2031 W Fulton St, Chicago IL 60612

Ticket price: $5

Participants are encouraged to bring their historical costume pieces, vintage clothing, fabric, notions, and accessories to swap with their colleagues. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own bags, and prep their garments by placing them on hangers. Changing space will be available, as well as a few clothing racks and the cutting tables for notions and folded items.

There will also be space made available for attendees to sell additional items as vendors, but they will be responsible for any monetary transactions (and encouraged to bring their own change, and/or a print out of their Venmo QR code, etc).

This event will primarily be marketed to the CHCS members, but can also be sent out to costume shops and departments.

DIRECTIONS:

The AIBI Fashion Lab and Conscious Costume rentals are located 2031* W Fulton St (Suite K-111) within the ICNC Make City Incubator on Chicago's near west side. The closest intersection is Damen and Fulton.

By Public Transit - There is a bus stop (#50) at the corner of Damen and Fulton. A green line stop at Lake and Damen is being added, but is not yet open.

By Car - AIBI can be reached:

From 290: Exit at Damen, and go north 8 blocks (past the United Center).

From 90: Exit at Division, and go west on Division almost 1 mile. Then turn south on Damen for 1 mile to Fulton Ave.

FREE Parking is available on the street, but it can be quite busy. Please allow yourself enough time to find parking and arrive at the Lab for your appointment. If you have quite a lot to carry, give the office number a call and we can open the garage door for you to load in or out.

When you arrive, please use the door marked 2031 W Fulton St. That is the door closest to the Fashion Lab. Please use the call box next to the door, which will let us buzz you in. Our unit is located on the first floor, across from the large exterior garage door. If you have any questions, or cannot find us, call the office number (312-836-1041).

Additionally, we recommend bringing a mask with you. For groups of 6 or more, you may wish to keep each other safe by wearing a mask.

*Yes, the official mailing address is 2021 W Fulton, but the door closest to us in the building is 2031. We can buzz you in either door, but will need to help guide you if you use the 2021 door.
