This immersive event, in partnership with Muuch Creative, Antalika’a, and the National Museum of Mexican Art, will be led by Mildre Ramirez, founder of Antalika’a, a renowned expert in traditional Mayan craftsmanship.

As a highlight of Chicago Fashion Week, this event brings a unique cultural perspective to the fashion industry by celebrating the artistry and legacy of Mayan textiles. The day will begin with opening remarks and introductions, setting the stage for an in-depth journey into the world of Yucatecan cross-stitch, Xmaknité, and Deshilado—three iconic techniques that exemplify Mayan artistry.
